3D Project Board and Maker Space, JV Forrestal Elementary School, PK-5th Grade

Project Lead: Ms. Coleman

The JVF Library/Media program has been building our Makerspace program over the past four years. This new resource features a Lego building surface on one side and a whiteboard surface on the other.

We will use this board to create a space for students to build with Lego bricks in 3-D and work collaboratively. This board will allow the creations to stay on display and be built upon by other students. The mobile aspect of the board will allow us to use it in other spaces beyond the library such as in a classroom for a dedicated math or art lesson, for example.

School Librarian Perspective

“After just two days of this new resource being used in our library makerspace, the board has been a big hit with our students! It has created an engaging space for them to work together in new ways. We have exciting hands-on collaborative projects we can implement with this new tool that will involve more students at one time. I can't wait to share these activities with the students.”
